Chanar Energy Limited (CEL) is a public limited company incorporated under the Companies Act, headquartered in Lahore, and listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The company is engaged in both sugar production and renewable energy generation through bagasse, which is a by-product of sugarcane mills.<\/p>

Cogeneration & Power Project<\/u><\/i><\/h3>

The company has proposed a 22 MW bagasse-based cogeneration power plant in District Faisalabad, planned to be completed within 18 months of financial closure. This plant will be equipped with high-pressure boilers and turbo-generators, enabling it to supply electricity to the national grid, Chanar Sugar Mills, and other bulk power consumers.<\/p>

Project Specifications<\/u><\/i><\/h3>

In terms of technology, the project includes a 110-bar travelling-grate boiler (110 TPH) supplied by Wuxi HuaYun Power Engineering Co. of China, along with a Siemens-designed extraction-cum-condensing turbo-generator manufactured by Hangzhou Steam Turbine Co. of China. The expected operational life of the project is around 30 years from the commencement of operations.<\/p>

Capital & Shareholding<\/u><\/i><\/h3>

The initial authorized share capital of CEL was PKR 100 million, consisting of 10 million shares of PKR 10 each, with the potential to increase up to PKR 800 million at the time of financial closing. The paid-up capital began at PKR 1 million, divided into 100,000 shares.<\/p>

Environmental & Technical Planning<\/i><\/u><\/h3>

Environmental and technical planning has also been carried out in line with Pakistan\u2019s regulatory framework. An Environmental Impact Assessment (IEE) has been conducted under Category B requirements, and the project is designed to comply with the National Environmental Quality Standards (NEQS) using electrostatic precipitators for emission control. Bagasse, with a generation capacity of 90 tons per hour, will be sourced directly from Chanar Sugar Mills through conveyors or road transport, while ash produced from the process will be reused as fertilizer or supplied locally.<\/p>

Role in Pakistan\u2019s Energy Landscape<\/u><\/i><\/h3>
